Web Video Package

I’ve had the chance, in the past year, to personally digest and review a lot of the web video info products available for sale online. They teach tactics, techniques, products, tools and more. Some are quite good, provide much value, and leave you with fresh ideas and reasons for adding video to your website.

However the product launched this week, that included master resale rights, wasn’t worth the hard drive space.

Why would you want to add video to your website?

To improve the visitor experience – which ultimately results in more sales, more subscribers and more repeat visitors. There are many other ways that website videos benefit your business, but ultimately visitor experience is the top of the list.

Now it doesn’t matter if it’s a how-to video, a welcome video, a screen cast or a face-to-face ‘chat’ – video on your website will exceed your expectations. As a matter of fact, due to a recent video I created on another site, and by registering that video at google, I received an extra 1100 visitors to that page over a two day span. Traffic was practically immediate.

Back to the reason I write this post – regarding master resale rights, resale rights and video tactics.

There is a new product on the market that comes with rights. It’s a short ebook, a one hour video screencast interview, and access to a member’s forum. I’m not going to try to tell you what to do with your money, or whether or not your customers will be pleased with their purchase (or not), but I will tell you that I certainly wasn’t pleased and even though the seller didn’t offer a refund I asked for one anyway.

The short ebook tells you why you want video on your site and a few things to use videos for – testimonials, building trust, justifying the expense of your product or service, etc. Hmm, seems those ‘reasons’ are all over the net now, or at least in the common sense marketing minds of anyone running a buisness online.

The video screencast interview is an hour of the same – showing sample high profile webpages of video testimonials and welcome messages and long drawn out lapses of unrehearsed, unexited, conversation.

Are there techniques to creating video? How to add video to your site? Stats on expected conversion rates? Tips on file size? Length? Download time? Format? Nope. None of it.

The resale rights package is selling for about $15. Time spent to digest this – plus poke around the forum to see if any value is found there – 1 1/2 hours. Time to send an email asking for a refund – 1 minute.

I wish the creators of this product well, but I personally was so frustrated by the lack of real content that I actually deleted the entire lot off my hard drive and refuse to try and make my investment back by passing this product off as something that is useful to my readers.

Although the sales letter is engaging, and the video of the author interesting, hold onto your money and invest it in a “How and Why to Add Video to Your Website” product.

Till next time!
