Regardless of what you were told during the presentation about how you were purchasing a foreclosure or a closeout and it would rise in price it just isn’t so. Skeptical? Go to Ebay and look at how many timeshare weeks are selling for for very little.
Find out the approximate value of your timeshare.
1. Do a Google search for your timeshare by resort name and week you are Listing for sale. If your timeshare is listed for sale by a reale company or there is an ad for it you should see results
2. Search Ebay and see if your week or a comparable week is listed or has sold.
3. Call your resort and ask if any resales have taken place for similar weeks
4. Check real property records in the county where your timeshare is at

Where Do You Advertise?
Go to www.tug2.net and www.redweek.com for places to place your week for sale or to see if there is a similar week for sale.
There are sites that offer free timeshare listings. Search for “free timeshare listings”.
Ask your resort for ideas of how others have sold their week. Advertise on a bulletin board or in a newsletter at your home resort.
If you consider trying to sell your week on e-Bay you must know that there are so many weeks listed for very little that it will probably cause the value of your timeshare to be dragged down. Set a reserve as low as you are willing to sell for; if you have no reserve you may find you have sold the week for !
If the property is actively marketing and bringing in tours consider putting an ad in newspapers where the tours are generated from. For example, if you have a beach week for sale on Cape Cod place an ad in Boston and other areas where the tours come from. Consider listing in the local newspaper where the resort is located. Suppose a couple just took a timeshare tour and didn’t buy a week they liked that was priced at ,000. They go to lunch and see your ad in the paper advertising the week they liked for ,000.
This is a great tip. If you live near your resort, take a day trip down in the week before and after your interval week. Hang around the resort and meet as many people as you can. You just may find someone that is looking for an adjacent week to theirs!
